VALLEY CITY, N.D. -- The Bemidji State University softball team was swept by the Valley City State University Vikings Wednesday afternoon in Valley City, N.D. to conclude the 2012 season with a 10-37 (3-23 NSIC) record. Valley City State improves to 25-18 on the season.

BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bemidji State University baseball team left 23 runners on the bases in 8-1 and 8-4 loses to Upper Iowa University in an Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader Friday at the BSU Baseball Field. The Peacocks took 3-of-4 from the Beavers in the series, as BSU fell to 13-13 overall and 6-6 in NSIC play.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota used two first period goals to gain early momentum and take down the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team 3-1 Friday afternoon at Ralph Engelstad Arena in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs. Bemidji State falls to 17-16-3 with Friday’s loss. North Dakota improves to 21-10-3. UND is now 4-1-0 against the Beavers this season.

Minneapolis, Minn.--The No. 7 Minnesota men’s hockey team cemented home-ice advantage in the first round of the WCHA playoffs by defeating in-state foe Bemidji State 4-1 on Saturday night at Mariucci Arena. The victory secured the team’s seventh sweep of the season and moved the Gophers two points ahead of Minnesota-Duluth for first place in the conference.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. --North Dakota used three third-period goals from Michelle Karvinen as she tallied a hat trick to send Univeristy of North Dakota past Bemidji State University 5-2 Friday night at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Beavers fall to 14-13-3 (8-13-2 WCHA). North Dakota improves to 17-9-2 (13-8-2 WCHA). The Beavers took the early advantage but gave up four-straight UND goals in the loss.
