The Minnesota State baseball team fell twice in nonconference twin bill Wednesday in the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis.

The Mavericks dropped a 4-3 decision in the first game and then fell by a 5-1 margin in the night cap.

The Bemidji State University Beavers (11-18-7, 9-12-7-3 WCHA) came from behind to edge the St. Cloud State women’s hockey team (15-13-8, 11-11-6-4 WCHA) by a score of 2-1 on Saturday, Feb. 27, to force and third and decisive playoff game on Sunday in the National Hockey Center.

St. Cloud State women's hockey (15-12-8, 11-11-6-4 WCHA) garnered its first playoff victory over Bemidji State University (10-18-7, 9-12-7-3 WCHA) in school history, blanking the Beavers 3-0 in the first game of the best-of-three WCHA Playoff series on Friday, Feb. 26, in the National Hockey Center.

Senior winger Holly Roberts (St. Cloud) netted two goals in the contest, including a short-handed empty net score with 3:01 remaining in the final period to seal the 3-0 win for the Huskies.

A solid all-around performance by the Huskies wasn’t quite enough on Saturday night as Bemidji State University defeated St. Cloud State University, 70-63 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) women’ basketball action.

St. Cloud State completed a weekend road sweep in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) men’s basketball action Saturday night with a 107-71 win over Bemidji State University. The 107 points is the most scored by the Huskies this season.

Freshman defenseman Megan Bozek had a part in all three goals to lead the No. 2/3 University of Minnesota women's hockey team to a 3-1 win over Bemidji State on Saturday afternoon at Ridder Arena. Bozek scored a goal and two assists, while Emily West and Terra Rasmussen each netted a goal as the Golden Gophers earned their 11th win of the season. Minnesota, who won 4-2 Friday, is now 11-2-1 overall and 9-2-1 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and earned its third sweep over a conference opponent.
