GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota used two first period goals to gain early momentum and take down the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team 3-1 Friday afternoon at Ralph Engelstad Arena in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs. Bemidji State falls to 17-16-3 with Friday’s loss. North Dakota improves to 21-10-3. UND is now 4-1-0 against the Beavers this season.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. --North Dakota used three third-period goals from Michelle Karvinen as she tallied a hat trick to send Univeristy of North Dakota past Bemidji State University 5-2 Friday night at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Beavers fall to 14-13-3 (8-13-2 WCHA). North Dakota improves to 17-9-2 (13-8-2 WCHA). The Beavers took the early advantage but gave up four-straight UND goals in the loss.

DULUTH, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Duluth, ranked No. 6 and No. 7 in the two national women’s hockey polls, used three goals in the first 10 minutes of play to skate past the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team in the series opener Saturday night at AMSOIL Arena. The Beavers fall to 8-4-2 (4-4-1 WCHA) with the loss.

EVELETH, Minn. – The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team used 11 goals and a program best 72 shots on goal as they routed Lindenwood University in the US Hockey Hall of Fame Face-off Classic at the Eveleth Hippodrome in Eveleth, Minn. BSU improves to 8-3-2 (4-3-1 WCHA) and Lindenwood falls to 1-12-0 on the season.

Mankato, Minn.--The Minnesota State (5-7-0, 1-5-0) women’s hockey team lost the final game of the weekend series 1-0 against Bemidji State (7-3-2, 4-3-1-1 WCHA) Saturday afternoon.

BSU’s Rachael Kelly rifled a shot past MSU goaltender Danielle Butters after Macken Thurston won the face-off at 10:55 into the first period.

MANKATO, Minn. - An Ariel Mackley goal with 17 seconds left in overtime put Minnesota State University past Bemidji State University 2-1 Friday night at All Seasons Arena in Mankato, Minn. The No. 10 BSU squad falls to 6-3-2 (3-3-1-1 WCHA) with the overtime loss. Minnesota State gets their first win in Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) play as they improve to 5-6-0 (1-4-0 WCHA).

Bemidji State's defenseman Danielle Williams grew up with an athletic family. She wears No. 59 for the Beavers' women's hockey team to honor her father Brian, who wore that number while playing professionally for the NFL's New York Giants.
