College Volleyball: Six Golden Gophers matches to be televised on Big Ten Network
The Big Ten Network will televise six Golden Gopher matches this season as part of its fall television package.
Minnesota's six matches on the Big Ten Network are the most of any program in the conference this season. The Golden Gophers first match will be live at Iowa on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. Minnesota will also face Northwestern on the road on Sunday, Oct. 10 in a match that will be tape-delayed at 6 p.m.
College Volleyball: Huskies name Marci Alofa Peniata as new Assistant Coach
St. Cloud State University’s head volleyball coach Michelle Blaeser and SCSU Athletics Director Dr. Morris Kurtz are pleased to announce the appointment of Malama (Marci) Alofa Peniata as the volleyball assistant coach.
Marci Peniata spent the last three seasons as the second assistant coach for the Ball State University women’s volleyball team. Prior to her tenure at Ball State, Peniata was a four-year member of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers women’s volleyball team.
College Volleyball: Golden Gophers to host 2014 NCAA Regionals
Minnesota has been chosen to host the 2014 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Regionals according to an announcement by the NCAA. It will mark the fifth time that the Minnesota volleyball program will host the NCAA Regionals.
The Golden Gophers had already been chosen to host the 2011 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Regionals on Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10 by the NCAA. When Minnesota hosts the NCAA Regionals in 2011, it will mark the fourth time in school history it has done so.
Wadena-Deer Creek Junior Olympic Volleyball Tournament set for this weekend
Wadena-Deer Creek will be hosting a two-day Junior Olympic Volleyball on Saturday and Sunday in the elementary and high school gymnasiums.
Games start at 9 a.m. on both days and the cost for admission will be $3 for adults and $1 for students.

College Volleyball: Gophers fall to Nebraska in spring match
The Minnesota volleyball team finished the spring season with a three-game loss to Nebraska by scores of 25-23, 26-24, 27-25 on Saturday, Apr. 24.
Nebraska won the fourth set 25-18 and the fifth set 15-12.
Minnesota was led by Tabitha Love who unofficially had 17 kills. Hailey Cowles also had 13 kills, while Lauren Gibbemeyer finished with 11 kills and five blocks.
The Golden Gophers finished the spring season 7-3. Minnesota won the Arizona State Tournament, the Iowa State Tournament and defeated Texas as part of its spring season.

College Volleyball: Golden Gophers sign libero Steffi Sooter to national letter of intent
The Minnesota volleyball program has signed libero Steffi Sooter to a national letter of intent according to an announcement by Golden Gopher Head Coach Mike Hebert.
Sooter is a 5-9 libero from Aptos High School in Santa Cruz, Calif. where she was named the Most Valuable Player of the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League by league coaches. She was also received Junior of the Year and Sophomore of the Year honors the two previous seasons. Aptos finished undefeated in SCCAL play in 2009 and reached the Central Coast Section Division III semifinals.

Under the helm of new head coach Michelle Blaeser, the St. Cloud State volleyball squad hosted an eight-team SCSU Spring Tournament on Saturday, April 10, in SCSU’s Halenbeck Hall.

The Minnesota volleyball team defeated Texas in four sets in the final match of its spring tournament by scores of 19-25, 30-28, 25-13, 27-25 at the Sports Pavilion on Saturday.
College Volleyball: Minnsota sweeps through Iowa State Tournament
The Minnesota volleyball team went 4-0 to win the Iowa State Tournament on Saturday.
Minnesota did not drop a set in the Iowa State Tournament, as it defeated North Dakota State (25-20, 25-20), Northern Iowa (32-30, 25-17), Kansas State (25-17, 25-22) and host Iowa State (25-16, 25-18).
The Golden Gophers are now 6-0 in their spring season. Minnesota also defeated Arizona State and the Calgary Dinos last week.
