The 2011-12 boys' basketball season is under way with the first games of the season played within the last week. The girls have been playing for a week longer. The 2012 state tournaments are a little more than three months away.

Prep Bowl XXX Preview: Caledonia, Wayzata defend respective titles; Seven teams remain undefeated

Caledonia and Wayzata are the only two defending champions that have survived the first two rounds of tournament play. The Caledonia Warriors are in the hunt for their second consecutive and fifth overall Class AA title. If the Wayzata Trojans win, it would be their second consecutive and fourth overall Class AAAAA title. Seven teams that made it to their respective championship games still boast unblemished records.

MSHSL releases statement regards to tournaments and H1N1 flu outbreaks
The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) has issue an statement on October 21 regards to teams and student-athletes participating in the upcoming subsection and section playoffs as well as the state tournaments with concerns of the possibility of a flu outbreak.
Although unlikey, but entirely possible, outbreaks of the serious novel H1N1 flu virus could impact some teams or individuals involved in these tournaments.
