Boys Baseball: Four Sebeka players land on 2010 State All-Tournament Team

Four Sebeka Trojan baseball players landed on the 2010 State All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the Class A championship game at Target Field on Saturday.

Representing the Trojans were seniors Alex Brockphaler and Josh Kinnunen, junior Brenen Brockphaler and sophomore Paul Funk.

 

Alex Brockpahler went 1-1 on the mound for the Trojans in the tournament. The senior allowed 11 runs (nine earned) and surrendered 15 hits in 13 innings. He walked six and struck out 13 in his two appearances. At the plate, Brockpahler went 2-for-9 with two runs scored and drove in three while walking twice. He also stole one base.

 

Kinnunen finished the three-day tournament going 6-for-12 with two doubles and four RBIs. He also walked once and scored four runs.

 

Brenen Brockpahler was 4-for-11 with a double and triple in his plate appearances. The junior scored six runs for the Trojans from his lead-off spot and walked twice with one stolen base.

 

Funk earned one win on the hill for the Trojans. The sophomore came in to pitch two and one-third innings in the Trojans semifinal win over Deer River. He allowed just two hits and no runs, walked one and struck out four. Funk went 5-for-11 at the plate with one RBI and scored five runs. He walked twice and stole one base.

 

The 2010 Class A Minnesota State Baseball All-Tournament Team was announced by Wells Fargo and the Minnesota State High School League. The team was selected by the media and a panel attending the tournament. The League re-introduced the All-Tournament team in 1990.
