Defenseman Joe Cinosky leads Minnesota Swarm's Movember campaign

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – During his tenure with the Minnesota Swarm, defenseman Joe Cinosky has earned the nickname “Joe Knows” among his teammates and Swarm fans due to his popular video blog on mnswarm.com.

This November, Cinosky will have added yet another title to his résumé, “Joe Knows Mo’s.”

Cinosky will sport a mustache (Mo) this month in part of Movember to help raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

“What a fun opportunity to grow a mustache,” Cinosky said. “You can truly see the benefits Movember has and all you have to do is grow some hair on your face to be able to support a great cause in men’s health.”

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world.

Swarm fans are invited to join Cinosky’s Movember team by visiting mnswarm.com.

“It doesn’t take much, even if it’s a small donation of $5 or $20 out of your pocket to make a difference,” Cinosky said.

About Movember

Once registered at www.movember.com, men start Movember 1st clean shaven. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

On Saturday, December 3rd, Movember will conclude with a Gala at Nomad Pub in Minneapolis. The night is filled with contests, entertainment and, of course, shaving off the mo's.

The funds raised in the US support prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and our men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVE STRONG , the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
