Girls Basketball: Lillquist, Schwartz spark Sebeka past Lady Pirates 66-34

Jessica Lillquist scored a game-high 15 points and Taylor Schwartz added 12—including a perfect six-for-six from the free-throw line—to help spark the host Sebeka Lady Trojans past Verndale 66-34 in Park Region Conference action Friday.

The Lady Trojans cruised to a 48-16 halftime lead en route to improving to 17-3 on the season.

Four players finished in double figures as Sebeka shot 38 percent (25-for-66) from the floor on the night. Bridget Martini and Betsy Olson each added 11 points apiece for the Lady Trojans. Martini also had six assists and eight steals, both team-highs.

Lizzy Yungbauer and Elizabeth Johnson each scored eight points to lead the Lady Pirates, which fell to 3-17.

Also making contributions to Sebeka’s conference victory were Katie Huttunen with eight points, a team-high nine boards, two assists and five steals and Katianne Brockpahler with five points and six rebounds.

Sebeka heads to Henning at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (today).
