Minnesota Twins agree to terms with catcher Ryan Doumit on one-year contract

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have agreed to terms with catcher Ryan Doumit on a one-year contract for the 2012 season.

Doumit batted .303 (66-for-218) with 12 doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 30 rbi in 77 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates last season. He was on the disabled list with a sprained left ankle from May 30-August 3.

Doumit has spent his entire career with the Pirates, batting .271 (534-for-1967) with 125 doubles, five triples, 67 home runs and 266 rbi in 611 games.
