Minnesota Wild assign Ludin and Wellman to Aeros; place Scandella on injury reserve

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned defenseman Mike Lundin to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) on a conditioning assignment. The team also announced today it has reassigned right wing Casey Wellman to Houston (AHL) and placed defenseman Marco Scandella on Injured Reserve.
Lundin was placed on Injured Reserve by Minnesota on Sept. 30 and has not appeared in a game this season. He recorded 12 points (1-11=12) and 12 penalty minutes (PIM) in 69 contests with the Tampa Bay Lightning last season. Lundin ranked fourth on the team in time on ice per game (20:24) and blocked shots (106). The 6-foot-2, 191-pound native of Burnsville, Minn., skated in all 18 playoff games with the Lightning and collected two assists and a plus-4 rating. Lundin was originally selected by Tampa Bay in the fourth round (No. 104 overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Wellman was recalled by Minnesota for the second time this season on Nov. 17 and has not appeared in a game with the Wild.
