Minnesota Wild recalls Kassian, Ortmeyer and Rau

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forwards Matt Kassian , Jed Ortmeyer and Chad Rau from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Kassian has 25 penalty minutes (PIM) in six games for the Wild this season. He has four points (2-2=4), a plus-2 rating and 34 PIM in 26 games for the Aeros. The 6-foot-5, 247-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta has collected 37 PIM in 10 career games with Minnesota. Kassian wears sweater #28 with Minnesota.

Ortmeyer has one assist in six games with the Wild this season and averaged 11:20 TOI/game. He has recorded 15 points (7-8=15), 28 PIM and a plus-8 rating in 31 games with Houston. The 6-foot-1, 203-pound native of Omaha, Neb., has skated in 316 NHL games in eight seasons with the New York Rangers, Nashville, San Jose and Minnesota, posting 52 points (21-31=52) and 147 PIM. Ortmeyer wears sweater #41 with Minnesota.

Rau made his NHL debut Jan. 21 and scored the game-winning goal against Dallas. He has averaged 8:02 TOI/game in his two games for the Wild. Rau has tallied 19 points (7-12=19) and a plus-4 rating in 40 games with Houston this season. The 5-foot-11, 184-pound forward is a native of Eden Prairie, Minn. Rau wears sweater #36 with Minnesota.
