October 3 at Columbus L 1-2
Andrew Brunette scores lone goal for Wild. Niklas Backstrom had 37 saves. New Wild coach Todd Richards loses in coaching debut
October 6 Anaheim 8 W 4-3 (OT)
Wild rally from three-goal deficit. Mikko Koivu, Petr Sykora and Eric Belanger score in regulation. Brunette scores game winner in overtime. Backstrom had 16 saves.
October 8 at Los Angeles L 3-6
Kim Johnsson, Martin Havlat and Nick Schultz tally goals for the Wild. Josh Harding had 17 saves in first appearance in the nets this season.
October 10 at San Jose L 2-4
Wild outshot the Sharks 40-29 but couldn't convert on power-plays (1-for-8). Brunette and Owen Nolan score for the Wild. Evgeni Nabokov corrals 38 saves for the Sharks.
October 14 at Anaheim L 2-3
Brunette scores his fourth goal of the season. Backstrom stopped 32 shots and Belanger also added a goal for the struggling Wild.
October 16 at Edmonton L 2-5
Brunette still on a scoring spree, tallies his fifth goal of the season as the Wild road woes continue. Benoit Pouliot tallied the other Wild goal. Harding stopped 14 shots.
October 17 at Vancouver L 1-2
Canucks outshot the Wild 39-18, but struggled to beat Backstrom. Mikael Samuelsson gets game-winner late in third period. Koivu scores the Wild's only goal.
October 21 Colorado W 3-2 (SO)
Home sweet Home. Koivu scores tying goal in regulation and then gets the only goal in the shootout. Brent Burns scored his first goal of the season. Backstrom 33 saves.
October 23 at St. Louis L 1-3
Chuck Kobasew tallied only goal for the Wild, who have lost seven straight on the road. Backstrom had 23 saves in the loss.
October 24 Carolina W 3-2 (OT)
Cal Clutterbuck scores game-winner in overtime after missing last five games to injury. Brunette and Kyle Brodziak also score goals while Burns added two assists.
October 26 at Chicago L 1-3
Wild become first NHL team to earn zero points in its opening eight road games since Pittsburgh in 1996. Brunette tallies his team-leading seventh goal of the season
October 28 Nashville L 3-4
Burns, Clutterbuck and Nolan scored 1:47 apart in 2nd period. Backstrom had 18 saves. Wild six-game home win streak snapped and team clinched first losing October in five years
October 30 New York Rangers W 3-2
What, No Gaborik? (Mocks) Former Wild star a no-show due to injury. Sykora, Belanger and Antti Miettinen tally goals for the Wild. Backstrom stopped 18 shots.
October 31 at Pittsburgh W 2-1
Wild win for the first time on the road against the defending champions. Backstrom was spectacular with 34 saves. Belanger scores game-winner. Brodziak also scored for the Wild who avoided becoming first team in 17 years to start 0-9 on road
November 2009
November 5 Vancouver L 2-5
Brodziak scored twice and Backstrom made 13 saves in two periods for the Wild, which saw its two-game win streak snapped. Canucks' Henrick Sedin scored short-hand goal, the fourth against the Wild this season, which is an NHL-high.
November 7 Dallas W 3-2
Clutterbuck and Koivu score goals with Zidlicky tallying the game-winner. Backstrom collected 19 saves on 21 shots
November 10 at Toronto W 5-2
Captain Koivu tallied a goal and two assists as the Wild defeated the lackluster Maple Leafs on the road. Havlat, Zidlicky, Zanon and Nolan also score for the Wild, who improved to 7-10. Backstrom had 37 saves.
November 12 at Tampa Bay L 3-4 (SO)
Lightning rally to tie the game with 14.7 left in regulation on a Ryan Malone goal; then score on both shots in the shootout to win. Pouliot, Johnsson and Nolan score for the Wild.
November 13 at Washington L 1-3
Wild backup goalie Josh Harding was outstanding in the nets, facing 41 shots and made some spectaular saves. Capitals still found a way to win despite Harding's heroics between the pipes. Clutterbuck scores the Wild's lone goal.
November 15 at Carolina L 4-5 (SO)
Robert Earl scores the first two goals of his career, John Scott also scores for the first time and Miettinen adds a goal but it wasn't enough for the Wild to get past Carolina. Hurricanes snap 14-game winless streak on Jussi Jokinen game-winner in the shootout.
November 18 Phoenix L 2-3
Richards called this one of the poorest performances from the Wild this season. Coyotes snap seven-game winless streak against Wild at the Xcel. Miettinen and Brunette each tallied a goal and assist. Koivu supplied two assists and Backstrom had 29 saves in loss.
November 20 New York Islanders W 3-2
Wild rally from 2-1 deficit in third period. Nolan scores two goals, including game-winner. Koivu also scored and Belanger supplied two helpers in the win as Wild snap four-game skid. Backstrom collected 27 saves.
November 25 Boston L 1-2 (SO)
Twins MVP Joe Mauer drops the ceremonial puck and the Wild drop the game in a shootout. Wild missing five key players due to injuries and illness. Ebbett scores the lone goal on power-play.
November 27 Colorado W 5-3
Wild right-winger Chuck Kobasew notches his second career hat trick. Koivu adds three helpers and Nolan and Brunette each score a goal. Boogaard tallies his first assist in 39 games and Backstrom stops 31 shots.
Saturday, November 28 W 3-2 (SO)
Mikko Koivu and Andrew Ebbett scored in the shootout, and Josh Harding stopped both of Colorado's shooters in the shootout victory. Eric Belanger and Guillamume Latendresse scored in regulation. Harding made 20 saves.
December 2009
Wednesday, December 2 Nashville W 5-4 (OT)
Andrew Ebbet tallies the game-winner in overtime as five different players score for the Wild. Antti Miettinen, Cal Clutterbuck, Guillamume Latendresses and Mikko Koivu score in regulation. Backstrom stops 31 shots.
Friday, December 4 Anaheim W 5-4 (SO)
Latendresses scored the winning goal in the shootout. Koivu and Miettinen scored two goals apiece for the Wild, and Miettinen also scored in the shootout as Minnesota won its fourth straight. Backstrom 18 saves.
Saturday, December 5 at Nashville W 5-3
In their longest win streak since the 2007-08 season, the Wild got goals from five players and points from 10. Ebbet, Shepard, Brunette, Miettinen and Belanger score for the Wild. Harding started and kicked away 26 shots.
Monday, December 7 at Phoenix L 0-2.
Scottie Upshall and Taylor Pyatt scored second-period goals 44 seconds apart to help the Coyotes snap the Wild's five game win streak. Ilya Bryzgalov picks up his fourth shutout with his 28 save effort. Backstrom makes 29 saves for the Wild.
Wednesday, December 9 at Colorado W 1-0
Niklas Backstrom made 23 saves for his first shutout of the season and Antti Miettinen scored the lone goal for the Wild. It was Backstrom's 18th career shutout.
Friday, December 11 at Calgary W 2-1 (OT)
Martin Havlat scored at 3:15 of overtime to lift the Wild to a 2-1 victory over the Flames. Sheppard also scored for Minnesota. The Wild have won two in a row and seven of their past eight games to improve to 15-13-3
Saturday, December 12 at Vancouver L 3-4
Defensemen Shane Hnidy scored his first goal of the season, Greg Zanon and Havlat scored for the Wild. Kyle Brodziak had two assists, and Harding made 25 saves in his sixth start this season. Brunette played in his 900th NHL game.
Tuesday, December 15 Columbus W 2-1
Zidlicky tallies the winning goal with 39 seconds left in regulation and Backstrom makes 21 stops as the Wild return home from a five-game road trip. Latendresse also tallies a goal for the Wild.
