Prep Baseball: Pulju, Brockpahler lead Sebeka past Menahga. 9-2

Cody Pulju almost single-handily carried Sebeka past Park Region Conference rival Menahga during the Trojans’ 9-2 victory Friday.

The senior picked up the complete game victory from the hill by striking out six and limiting the Braves to three hits. Pulju then went 3-for-3 from the plate with a double, four runs scored and one RBI.

Brenen Brockaphler did further damage with a three-run four-bagger in the bottom of the fourth to spot the Trojans the 8-1 lead.

Pulju lit up the scoreboard by scoring on a passed ball in the first inning and two Menahga errors in the bottom of the second inning unleashed four Sebeka runs. The Trojans got singles in the frame from Travis Titcomb, Taylor Carlson, Sam Tellers, and Pulju while Jason Steinke reached on a fielders choice.

Menahga got on the board in the fourth inning when Ben Skoog scored on a Bobby Lusti RBI fielders choice. Stetson Burkman scored the Braves’ final run of the game in the sixth.

Pulju capped the Trojans’ scoring when he led off the bottom of the sixth with a double and scored on a one-out grounder. He retired the Menahga order in the seventh to cement the victory.

Burkman took the loss on the hill for the Braves.

Menahga (2-7) heads to Pine River-Backus for a non-coference game with the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
