Prep Baseball: Sebeka extends win streak to five with 8-5 victory over Menahga

Sebeka picked up their fifth straight victory with the 8-5 Park Region Conference win over rival Menahga on Tuesday.

Menahga took a quick 1-0 lead in the opening frame on a RBI double from Stetson Burkman. However, the Braves committed two costly errors in the third inning and Sebeka took advantage to score four runs.

The Trojans extended their lead to 7-3 in the fourth with three runs and Reid Redetzke scored on a wild pitch to cap the Sebeka scoring in the seventh.

The Braves took advantage of the five Trojan errors to pull within two runs in the game.

Sean Dormanen drove in a run with a ground out in the third inning and Ben Skoog plated another run in the fourth when he reach on an infield error.

Cody Pulju went the distance to pick up the win on the hill with four strikeouts for the Trojans. Bobby Lusti struck out two in the loss and went 2-for-4 at the plate for Menahga.

Sebeka had five hits in the victory with Pulju, Paul Funk, Redetzke, Sam Tellers and Tanner Burgau all collecting singles. Sean Roth, Burkman, Sean Dormanen and Jake Dissmore had base hits for Menahga, which outhit the Trojans by one, 6-5.

Menahga (2-11) travels to Frazee at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
