Prep Boys Golf: Pine River-Backus slips past Warriors by two strokes in dual

Frank Moren shot a 45 to grab co-medalist honors but United North Central dropped the dual with Pine River-Backus by two strokes at the Blueberry Pines Golf Course on Monday.

Bradley Johnson shot 46, Lane Hillukka 50 and Arik Hillukka 51 for the Warriors’ 192.

Rory Allebach (57) and Colby Pudas (68) provided the kicker scores for United North Central.

The Tigers’ Brandon Mager also fired 45 to share medalist honors as Pine River-Backus shot 190 as a team to claim the golf meet. Cody Mager shot 46, Adam Barstow 49 and Saul Sasse had 50.

The United North Central Junior Varsity team won 205-248 with Noah Hendrickson firing a low 44 at the back nine. Drake Anderson had 51, Aaron Paulson 53 and Luke Meech 57 to round out the team score. Jake Dissmore (67) and Dakota Putzke (72) also competed for the Warriors in the victory.
