Prep Girls Basketball: Menahga silences the Huskies, 64-16

Pillager, Minn.—Tarah Cleveland scored 15 points and Arielle Pihlaja added 13 as Menahga hushed Pillager 64-16 during Thursday’s Park Region Conference game.

The Lady Braves led 39-8 at halftime as Menahga head coach Steve Schreiber emptied his bench against the winless Huskies

Menahga shot 51 percent (21 for 41) from the field and nailed five three pointers. Arielle Pihlaja was 3 for 5 from beyond the arc for the Lady Braves. Jenny Skoog contributed five points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Lady Braves converted 19 of 29 attempts from the charity stripe with Shelby Pihlaja going a perfect 4 for 4 from the line. The freshman missed out on double digit scoring with nine points.

Also scoring for Menahga were Alicia Ahlf and Beth Tormanen with seven points apiece. Freshman Hannah Allebach went 3 for 4 from the free-throw line to finish with five points. Eighth-grader Jen Stifter added two points and junior Bradi Carlson one.

Pillager was led by freshman Autumn Borders with six points.

Menahga (9-6) travels to Browerville at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
