Little Falls won all seven matches to breeze past Wadena-Deer Creek 7-0 during Monday’s non-conference girls tennis dual meet held at the high school tennis courts.

The brisk and cold afternoon wind didn’t prevent the Flyers from posting straight set victories in the singles portion of the meet, although Jamie Jenks did have to fend off a serious challenge at first singles from Wadena-Deer Creek’s Paige Hartman. The junior outlasted Hartman by scores of 6-4, 6-3.

The Lady Wolverines got a pair of spirited efforts from two doubles teams in the loss. Molly Kraemer and Marie Hunt at No. 2 doubles rallied from a first set loss to force a third-set tiebreaker, but were edged by the Flyers’ Mikayla Gottwalt and Katelyn Kanieski in the decisive set by a score of 8-6.

Wadena-Deer Creek’s Anna Kraemer and Elise Kallevig ended up losing a hard-fought second set super tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles to Tori Magee and Jessica Durfee.
