Prep Girls Tennis: Results from the Lady Eagles’ Celebrity Classic on Saturday

The New York Mills girls tennis team partnered with teachers, parents, former players and community members for a very fun day of friendly doubles competition during the third annual Mills Open Celebrity Tennis Classic on Saturday.

The doubles tandem of Jenna Esala and Robert Williams claimed the championship title, with Kori Salo and Mary Lee Legried earning runner-up honors. Krista and Rich Guldseth took third place while Jordin and DuWayne Roberts finished fourth.

Steve Schultz and Erin Bishop-Schultz were the consolation bracket champions.

In addition, the Lady Eagles bestowed ‘special awards’ during the event. The ‘Fan Favorite’ award was given to Heidi Dresser; ‘Best Dressed’ went to Travis Hensch; ‘Ageless Wonder’ was awarded to Rich Guldseth and and the ‘Johnny Mac’ award (for the brattiest celeb player) was given to Gary Salo and Shanna Pazdernick-Hensch.

The successful event help raised funds for the New York Mills’ Tennis Booster Club.
