Prep Softball: Sebeka sweeps Parkers Prairie in conference twinbill

Jessica Lillquist went 7-for-9 with five runs and eight RBIs to help Sebeka make it four in a row with Tuesday’s 15-12 and 12-6 Park Region Conference sweep of Parkers Prairie.

The sweep improved Sebeka’s overall record to 5-6 and 4-5 in the conference.

Sebeka banged out 20 hits in the first game of the doubleheader and were led by Lillquist, who scattered four hits, scored three runs and drove in four RBIs. Jasmine Titcomb also added four hits, four runs and plated two ribbies.

Brett Brockpahler went the distance and gave up seven earned runs and struck out seven. The sophomore also went 3-for-5 at the plate with two doubles and two RBIs.

Also collecting multiple hits in the Lady Trojans' slugfest were Kendra Steinke, who was 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs. Katianne Brockpahler and Shelby Pulju both had two hits apiece.

Sebeka rallied from an early 4-1 deficit in the second game as Steinke pitched the last five and two-thirds innings in relief to pick up the win.

Lillquist once again led the Lady Trojans at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBIs. Katianne Brockpahler (2-for-4 with four runs and two steals), Logan Redetzke (2-for-4 with one run and RBI) and Steinke (2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs) also provided additional firepower at the plate for Sebeka in the nightcap.

Sebeka (5-6) hosts Walker-Hackensack-Akeley at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
