Prep Volleyball: Conference leader Sebeka sweeps Lady Eagles

Ellie Rutten posted five kills and six blocks and Brooke Kupfer added 10 digs for New York Mills in Thursday’s Park Region Conference loss to Sebeka.

The Lady Trojans posted 25-6, 25-16 and 25-23 scores to remain undefeated in conference play.

“We came out slow in game one,” said New York Mills head coach Amy Koskela. “We had our confidence back in games two and three by playing tough defense against Sebeka’s big hitters, making those games more intense.”

Jackie Imsande also notched five kills for the Lady Eagles with Tori Kempenich and Taylor Geiser adding three kills apiece.

Lexie Rankka collected 13 set assists.

New York Mills (6-11-1) will participate in the Bertha-Hewitt Tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday.
