Prep Volleyball: Frazee clips New York Mills in season opener

Jackie Imsande registered a team-high eight kills for New York Mills and Lexie Rankka posted 22 set assists for the Lady Eagles in Tuesday’s 3-0 season-opening loss to Frazee.

Imsande also added two blocks and one set assist as Frazee claimed the first two sets by 25-20 and 25-21 scores. The Hornets wrapped up the match in the third set, winning 25-17.

Tori Kempenich registered six kills and two digs while Ellie Rutten posted six kills, two blocks and four assists for the Lady Eagles in the loss. Taylor Plautz notched a team-high three kills and one ace serve for New York Mills, who also received ace serves from Savannah Leiran and Amy Nebosis.

The Lady Eagles (0-1) will host Staples-Motley at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday
