Prep Volleyball: Lady Braves stung by Frazee

Menahga saw its two-match win streak come to an end when the Lady Braves were stung by the host Frazee Hornets 25-20, 25-11, 25-23 during Tuesday’s non-conference match.

The trio of Arielle Pihlaja, Jenny Skoog and Alicia Ahlf posted four kills apiece to lead the Lady Braves’ offensive attack. Skoog also notched five digs in the backcourt and led the team with two blocks.

Tarah Cleveland contributed three kills, five digs, one ace serve and one set assist. Delanie Weyer added 10 set assists and Maria Tormanen aced three serves for the Lady Braves in the loss.

Krissy Marlen tallied four of the Hornets’ 15 service aces during the match. Frazee was led by Alexis Tappe, who posted solid numbers with a team-high 12 kills and five blocks to go along with her two digs and three ace serves. Jena Rader paced the Hornets with 27 setting assists.

Menahga (4-9) travels to Staples-Motley at 7:30 p.m. Thursday
