Prep Volleyball: Lady Wolverines pick up Mid-State Conference win over Cardinals

Brittney Noon scored a volleyball double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs and Emily Miron notched 11 kills for Wadena-Deer Creek during Monday’s Mid-State Conference victory over Staples-Motley.

The Class AA, eighth-ranked Lady Wolverines breezed past the Cardinals 25-9, 25-15 and 25-10.

Hope Theisen also contributed 10 digs from the backcourt with Caitlin Volkmann and Sydney Schissel tallying eight apiece. Melissa Moenkedick posted seven kills and three blocks.

Heather Theisen had 22 set assists and went 13 for 14 from the service line with three aces. Morgan Lugert added two ace serves for the Lady Wolverines, who improved to 14-0.

Staples-Motley was led by Theresa Odden with three kills. Marilyn Eagletail had a team-high six digs and Kaitlin Spar contributed two kills and four blocks for the Cardinals, who fell to 1-14 on the season.

Wadena-Deer Creek will host Bertha-Hewitt at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (today).
