Prep Volleyball: Lady Wolverines win streak hits 50

Wadena-Deer Creek served up a perfect match enroute to picking up their 50th consecutive victory in Tuesday’s 3-0 non-conference win over Bertha-Hewitt.

The Lady Wolverines went 73-for-73 from the service line to sweep the Bears 25-16, 25-8 and 25-14. Caitlin Volkmann led the way, going 14-for-14 while Avery Jackson and Sydney Schissel went 13-for-13. Jackson also notched an ace while Schissel tallied two of the Lady Wolverines’ eight aces in the match.

Also posting perfect marks at the service line were Brittney Noon (8 for 8 with two aces), Hope Theisen (9 for 9), Heather Theisen (5 for 5), Kaitlin Ditsworth (3 for 3 with two aces), Melissa Moenkedick (2 for 2) and Morgan Lugert (6 for 6 with an ace).

Noon led the Lady Wolverines with a team-high 12 kills, while Miron notched 10 kills and a team-high seven blocks. Volkmann registered 18 digs, with Heather Theisen adding 11 digs and 25 set assists.

Wadena-Deer Creek (15-0) will head to the St. Michael-Albertville Tournament at 5:30 p.m. Friday
