Prep Volleyball: Two Lady Wolverines land on All-State team

Wadena-Deer Creek’s Brittney Noon and Emily Miron were named to the Class AA All-State team, which was announced by the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association at the pre-tournament banquet Wednesday evening.

Noon, the Lady Wolverines’ 5-foot-8 outside hitter currently leads the team with 407 kills and 27 ace serves. The senior was All-State honorable mention last season.

Miron, a 6-foot-2 middle hitter, paced the Lady Wolverines’ defense with 82 blocks, and currently is second on the team in kills with 338.

Whitney Burmeister of Jackson County Central was named the Class AA Player of the Year. Riley Hanson, a middle hitter from Nevis was named to the Class A All-State team and the 2011 Ms. Baden Minnesota Volleyball Player of the Year award went to Leigh Pudwill of Centennial.

Brittney is the daughter of Ron and Gretchen Noon while Emily is the daughter of Richard and Jacquelyn Miron.
