Twins acquire Turpen to complete trade with Rockies

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have acquired right-handed pitcher Daniel Turpen from the Colorado Rockies as the player to be named later in the Kevin Slowey trade.
Turpen went 2-4, 4.83 ERA (59.2 ip, 32 er) with 11 saves, allowing 35 walks with 33 strikeouts in 48 appearances (one start) with Double-A Tulsa last season. He has a career record of 18-16, 3.25 ERA (298.2 ip, 108 er) with 28 saves, allowing 116 walks with 231 strikeouts in 204 appearances (one start). Turpen will be assigned to Triple-A Rochester’s roster.
