The Minnesota State High School League’s Prep Championship Series — the three state championship baseball games — are still scheduled for Wednesday, June 22. The weather forecast indicates only “periods” of rain rather than showers (which by the way are occurring as this is written). The schedule — for now — is for the Class A game to start at noon, followed by the Class AA game at 3 p.m. and the Class AAA game at 6 p.m.

Once Menahga pitcher Lindsey White gets into a zone, all you could do is sit back and watch the junior work her magic on the mound.

White came out smoking in the Section 6A North playoff opener against sixth-seeded Frazee, retiring the first 10 Hornet batters on strikeouts before an Lady Brave error in the fourth allowed a runner.

The right-hander ended tossed 85 pitches in the game and finished with 16 strikeouts in seven innings. She did not issue a walk and surrendered just two hits.
