Ottertail Central blanked Menahga in both games of the Park Region Conference doubleheader on Tuesday by scores of 5-0 and 1-0.

Menahga managed only four hits in the opener with Katie Miller, Jenny Haataja, Lindsey White and Megan Miller all collecting singles against Bulldog pitcher Carley Nelson, who struck out 12 for the complete game victory.

Gabby Brendefur, who had a triple in the first game, drove in the game-winning run in the fourth inning of the nightcap for Ottertail Central. Tara Cleveland had two of Menahga’s four hits in the second game.

Third-ranked Sebeka survived a stubborn first-half effort by the host Henning Hornets to roll to their 19th straight victory in the 71-38 Park Region Conference clash Thursday.

The Trojans jumped out to a 13-2 lead but the Hornets swarmed back with an 11-0 run to tie the game at 13-13. Both teams traded baskets the rest of the half, with Sebeka taking a 36-21 lead into the break.

Betsy Olson drained a game-high 27 points and completed the double-double by hauling down a team-high 15 boards as Sebeka overpowered Henning 77-53 in Park Region Conference play Tuesday.

Sebeka threw up a whooping 82 shoots in the contest, with 34 finding their mark for 41 percent. The Lady Trojans converted 60 percent (9-for-15) of their free-throws, grabbed 42 rebounds, dished out 18 assists and collected 17 steals in the conference victory.

Four Menahga players recorded double figures to push the Braves past Henning 72-67 in Park Region Conference play Thursday.

Kasey Tyge hit five-of-nine shots from beyond the arc to lead all scorers with 22 points and dished out a team-high eight assists. Marlin Aho and Tom Gruchow both posted double-doubles for the Braves, who won their second consecutive game.

Aho drained 19 points and grabbed a team-high 12 boards while Gruchow added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Derek Pihlaja scored 11 points, grabbed three rebounds and had seven assists.

New York Mills remains perfect this season with the 69-48 Park Region Conference victory over the Henning Hornets on Tuesday.
 
Four New York Mills players hit double digits in the scoring column and senior Brittnie Menze’s double-double led the Lady Eagles. She scored a game-high 17 points to go with her team-high 11 rebounds.
