Sebeka, Minn.—For the second time this season, the Park Region Conference softball game between Sebeka and Menahga came down to the wire.

Brett Brockpahler drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Lady Trojans the 5-4 walk off victory.

Verndale, Minn.—Menahga scattered nine hits with six going for extra bases as the Lady Braves picked up a 12-1 Park Region Conference victory over Verndale on Thursday.

The Eagles of New Life Academy of Woodbury in Class A and the Pirates of Park Center, Brooklyn Park, in Class AA return to defend their respective titles. A new champion will emerge in Class AAA because Burnsville, which won in 2010, failed to qualify for this year’s tournament.

Lindsey White and Amelia Pho of Menahga and Jessica Lillquist of Sebeka were recently named to the Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association's 2011 Class A All-State Softball Team.

White was a first-team pick while Pho earned second-team honors. Lillquist landed on the honorable mention team.

Lindsey White posted 15 strikeouts, but it wasn’t enough as Menahga was eliminated from the Section 6A tournament with the 6-4 loss to Ashby on Tuesday evening.

The Arrows never trailed after Haley Barry ripped a two-run double in the first inning and then used a three-run fourth to build a 6-0 lead.

Tarah Cleveland’s only hit of the game provided enough spark as Menahga rallied from a 3-1 deficit with five runs in the fourth inning to eliminate Pillager 6-4 in the Section 6A tournament Tuesday.

Pillager went ahead 3-0 in the top of the second as Danielle Johnson highlighted the inning with a two-run single. Kaylie Hanson also added a RBI double for the Huskies, who tagged Menahga starter Lindsey White for five hits in the frame.

Menahga continued to have trouble solving Class A, sixth-ranked Hawley and their star pitcher Jessy Noreen for the third time this season, losing 4-0 to the Nuggets during the Section 6A North Subsection championship game Thursday evening.

Lindsey White and Tarah Cleveland scattered three hits and Joy Haataja ripped two doubles as Menahga won 9-1 to bounce Park Region Conference rival Sebeka from the Section 6A playoffs Thursday.

The two teams had split during the regular season, with Menahga winning 9-6 in the season opener back in April. The Lady Trojans even the score with a 2-1 win at home on May 17.
