Both the Sebeka and Henning volleyball teams landed four players on the recently announced Park Region All-Conference Team.

Sebeka, which won the outright Park Region Conference crown with a 6-0 mark, was led by Jessica Lillquist. The senior middle hitter was voted the Park Region Conference Most Valuable Player.

Teresa Moenkedick was all over the court as Verndale outlasted Menahga 3-2 during Tuesday’s Park Region Conference battle.

The junior outside hitter registered 13 kills, 27 digs and five ace serves—all team highs— for the Lady Pirates, who needed five sets to turn back the Lady Braves 10-25, 25-22, 25-23, 24-26 and 15-6 to complete the season sweep.

After losing the first set, Menahga rallied to win the next three to defeather the host Staples-Motley Cardinals 18-25, 25-11, 25-12, 25-14 during Thursday’s non-conference girls volleyball match.

Menahga saw its two-match win streak come to an end when the Lady Braves were stung by the host Frazee Hornets 25-20, 25-11, 25-23 during Tuesday’s non-conference match.

The trio of Arielle Pihlaja, Jenny Skoog and Alicia Ahlf posted four kills apiece to lead the Lady Braves’ offensive attack. Skoog also notched five digs in the backcourt and led the team with two blocks.

Menahga used solid teamwork to post back-to-back victories for the first time since last October with the 25-19, 25-17 and 25-20 sweep of Pillager during Thursday’s Park Region Conference match.

Delanie Weyer paced the Lady Braves’ offense with 18 setting assists and the senior also collected a team-high seven digs to go along with her one kill, one ace serve and a block during the victory.

Alicia Ahlf registered six kills and Jenny Skoog added five as Menahga picked up its third win of the season with Tuesday’s non-conference sweep of the visiting Laporte Wildcats.

Delanie Weyer paced the Lady Braves offense with seven set assists while Tarah Cleveland notched a team-high five digs from the backcourt.

Menahga (3-8) hosts Pillager at 7:30 p.m. Thursday

Menahga went 1-3 at the Hawley Tournament on Saturday to finish in sixth place.

The Lady Braves were swept by undefeated and Class A eighth-ranked Ada-Borup 25-17, 25-18 in the opener and by Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors in the consolation quarterfinals 25-17, 25-12.

Jenny Skoog registered four kills, five digs, five blocks and two set assists for Menahga during the 3-0 non-conference loss to Class A, third-ranked Nevis on Tuesday night.

The Tigers swept the match in three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-23.
