Minneapolis, Minn.--The University of Minnesota women’s basketball team shocked No. 9/9 Ohio State Sunday afternoon in front of a Williams Arena crowd of 5,626 with a 76-65 victory. The triumph moves the Gophers to 12-11 overall and 4-5 in Big Ten Conference play while the Buckeyes suffered only their second loss of the season to drop to 20-2 overall and 7-2 in league action.

Minnesota (20-11) rallied from a 0-2 deficit to defeat Washington (24-8) in five sets by scores of 18-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-21, 15-11 to advance to the NCAA Regionals on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Minnesota will host Iowa State, who defeated Miami (Fla.) earlier today, in the NCAA Regionals on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. In the other regional matchup at Minneapolis. Purdue will face Florida State at 5 p.m. on Dec. 3.

The No. 19 University of Minnesota volleyball team beat border rival Wisconsin in straight sets tonight at the Sports Pavilion (25-21, 25-21, 28-26). The victory increases the Gopher’s overall record to 17-11 and 10-9 in the Big Ten Conference. The Golden Gophers swept the Badgers this season, also defeating UW on Oct. 19 in Madison, Wis. in five sets.

Minneapolis, Minn.--University of Minnesota baseball head coach John Anderson has announced that Alec Crawford (Wilton, Iowa) , Dan Motl (Burnsville, Minn.) , Dalton Sawyer (Waconia, Minn.) , Connor Schaefbauer (Sioux Falls, S.D.) , Matt Stemper (Burnsville, Minn.) and Troy Traxler (La Crescent, Minn.) have all signed National Letters of Intent. The group will join the Gopher baseball program in the fall of 2012.

Minneapolis, Minn.--No. 2/3 Minnesota earned a weekend sweep against New Hampshire with a 6-1 win at Ridder Arena. Sophomore Amanda Kessel had her second hat trick of the weekend, while senior Jen Schoullis tallied a point on every goal, and tied the school record for assists in a game with five.

Former Parkers Prairie standout Sari Noga scores career-high 16 points in victory
 

Sophomore Sari Noga scored a career-high 16 points, and added six rebounds and two steals, to lead the University of Minnesota women’s basketball team to a 65-40 victory over Binghamton Saturday afternoon on the opening day of the Subway Classic at Williams Arena.
