Minnesota Swarm defeats Buffalo 19-11 in action-packed home opener

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm (1-1) defeated the Buffalo Bandits (2-2) 19-11 on Treasure Island Field in front of 8,232 fans during its home opener at Xcel Energy Center.

Scoring 19 times, the Swarm tied a franchise-high in goals that was set in 2007 in Chicago.

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm opens Training Camp this weekend, with its first session running from Thursday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 27 at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario. The four-day camp kicks off the Swarm’s eighth season of play in the NLL.

Minnesota Swarm re-signs goalie Nick Patterson to one-year deal

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm announced today that the team has re-signed G Nick Patterson to a one-year contract.

“We’re excited to have Nick back,” Associate General Manager Joe Sullivan said. “He has had some great games in the last couple of seasons and I know he is coming into camp prepared to build on his previous success.”

Minnesota Swarm signs TV deal with Channel 45

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Swarm today announced that KSTC-TV, Channel 45, will rebroadcast all (8 ) of the Swarm’s regular season home contests during the 2012 season. The partnership marks the first time in team history every Swarm home game will air on TV.

Minnesota Swarm named winner of the 2011 Deubener Award for Family-Owned Business

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Swarm is proud to announce that it has been named the 2011 Deubener Award winner in the category of Family-Owned Business. The award is presented annually by the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce in honor of Walter & Lydia Deubener.

John Arlotta along with his son, Andy, purchased the Swarm in 2008 and serve as the team’s owners.

Minnesota Swarm signs two rookie forwards

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Swarm today signed rookie forwards Corbyn Tao (Robert Morris University) and Jay Card (Hofstra University) to two-year deals.

Minnesota drafted Tao in the second round (12th overall) and Card with the first selection in the third round (19th overall) of the 2011 NLL Entry Draft.

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – During his tenure with the Minnesota Swarm, defenseman Joe Cinosky has earned the nickname “Joe Knows” among his teammates and Swarm fans due to his popular video blog on mnswarm.com.

This November, Cinosky will have added yet another title to his résumé, “Joe Knows Mo’s.”
