Lacrosse: Four-game road trip critical for the Swarm's playoff hopes

With a critical stretch of the season approaching, the Swarm are feeling confident after back-to-back wins

The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm (3-4) walked away from Xcel Energy Center last weekend in record setting fashion after topping the Colorado Mammoth (2-5) 15-5. The win marked the Swarm’s first against the Mammoth in team history and in the process also set a franchise record for greatest margin of victory by defeating Colorado by 10 points.

Minnesota Swarm: Crawford earns NLL Overall Player of the Week honors

The National Lacrosse League (NLL) announced today that Minnesota Swarm (3-4) F Callum Crawford has been named NLL Overall Player of the Week for Week Seven of the 2010 season.

Crawford exploded for nine points on Saturday during a 15-5 win over the Colorado Mammoth (2-5), notching four goals and five assists.

Minnesota Swarm buries Colorado 15-5 for second straight victory

The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm (3-4) had never beaten the Colorado Mammoth (2-5) in franchise history, a streak dating back to 2005. That all changed Saturday night when the Swarm powered their way to a 15-5 victory in front of 9,223 fans at Xcel Energy Center. The win gave the Swarm its first winning streak of the season and puts Minnesota in the West Division’s fourth and final playoff spot heading into the stretch run.

Minnesota Swarm fall short to undefeated Washington Stealth 12-9

The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm (1-4) suffered a tough loss to the undefeated Washington Stealth (6-0) by a score of 12-9, in front of 3,526 fans in Comcast Arena at Everett Friday night. The western rivals will face off in a rematch next Saturday at Xcel Energy Center.

Minnesota Swarm sign three more players for 2010 season

The Minnesota Swarm have re-signed forwards Aaron Wilson and Kevin Ross to one-year contracts for the 2010 season. General Manager Marty O’Neill also signed forward Sean Thomson who was acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Wings on Sep. 25 to a one-year contract for the 2010 season. These signing are currently pending approval from the league office.

The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm have re-signed forward Kevin Buchanan as well as defensemen Josh Funk, Ricky Pages and Andrew Watt to one-year contracts for the 2010 season. General Manager Marty O’Neill also announced the signing of free agent defenseman Jay Winder to a one-year contract.

The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm have announced that tryouts for the Swarm Performance Team (SPT) will take place at CorePower Yoga in Minneapolis on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 6:00 p.m. Ten will women will be selected to the team and join Head Coach Tami Krause and Assistant Coach Allison Drusch for the 2010 season.

Minnesota Swarm announce assistant coaches for 2010 season

The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm have announced the signing of Assistant Coaches Aime Caines and Joe Sullivan to finalize their coaching staff for the 2010 NLL season. Caines and Sullivan will join first year Head Coach Mike Lines, who was recently signed earlier this month.
