Timberwolves acquire Michael Beasley from Miami Heat

The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has acquired 6-9 forward Michael Beasley from the Miami Heat in exchange for the Wolves' second-round picks in the 2011 and 2014 NBA Drafts and cash considerations. As part of the deal, the Heat will also have the right to swap first-round picks with the Wolves in a future draft.

Timberwolves 2010 U.S. Bank Summer Caravan stopping in Brainerd July 22

The Timberwolves are set to embark on the 2010 U.S. Bank/Minnesota Timberwolves Summer Caravan, which will hit the road on Tuesday, July 20 and make stops in Owatonna, Willmar and Brainerd. Wolves forward Corey Brewer and guard Ramon Sessions will headline this summer's Caravan events. Over the past 20 years, the Timberwolves Caravan has made 91 stops across Minnesota and the upper Midwest.

The Wolves lost their fifth consecutive game last night, falling to the Milwaukee
Bucks, 87-72 at Target Center.

The Wolves started out strong as they shot 47.6% in the first quarter to Milwaukee's 33.3%, but their lead began to slip as the half came to a close with the Wolves leading 38-33.

Celtics outlast Timberwolves 92-90

The Timberwolves lost a heartbreaker as the Boston Celtics won 92-90 at Target
Center last night. 

Minnesota came out strong as they shot 53.4% from the field through three quarters and took a 72-69 lead going into the fourth.  The rest of the way, it was a back and forth battle between the two teams until Boston finally took the lead for good with 4:18 remaining in the game on a Rajon Rondo lay-up.
