Houston Aeros' Darcy Kuemper named Reebok/AHL Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—The American Hockey League announced today that Houston Aeros goaltender Darcy Kuemper has been selected as the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 11, 2011.

With Matt Hackett on NHL recall, Kuemper made four starts last week and surrendered only four goals on 134 shots, posting a 2-0-2 record, a 0.96 goals-against average and a .970 save percentage.

Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the club has recalled forward Jeff Taffe from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Wild has also placed forward Devin Setoguchi on injured reserve, retroactive to Tuesday, Dec. 6.

C Kyle Brodziak , LW Dany Heatley and RW Cal Clutterbuck each scored in a three-goal third period and G Josh Harding made 23 saves, as the Minnesota Wild rallied past the Nashville Predators 3-2 at Xcel Energy Center. C Mikko Koivu added two assists for Minnesota, which set a new team record with its ninth November win. The Wild has won five in a row overall and six straight at home.

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL)Minnesota Wild today announced that forwards Dany Heatley and Mikko Koivu and defenseman Marek Zidlicky have been named to the 2012 NHL All-Star ballot that was released by the league today. Players appearing on the ballot were selected by the NHL’s Hockey Operations Department.
