College Softball: Mavericks win streak hits eight; sweep Dragons

The Minnesota State softball team improved its winning streak to eight games Sunday afternoon as the Mavericks earned a 14-5 and 12-2 victory over MSU Moorhead.

In the opening inning of game one, the Dragons tallied two runs off one hit, leaving three on.

Minnesota State’s senior catcher Kelsey Thompson brought two runs in at the bottom of the first as she hit a double to center field.

The St. Cloud State softball squad (16-14, 3-5 NSIC) earned a NSIC sweep over Minnesota State University Moorhead (2-20, 0-6 NSIC) on Saturday afternoon (April 10) at Selke Field with a 7-2 decision in the first game and a 2-0 shutout in the second stint.

Mens College Basketball: Big second half lifts Mavericks past Dragons 93-72

The fourth-ranked Minnesota State men’s basketball team closed out a four-game homestand with a 93-72 victory over Minnesota State University, Moorhead Saturday night in front of 1,548 fans in the Taylor Center on the campus of Minnesota State University. The Mavericks used a 31-12 run to close out the final 10 and half minutes.
