GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota used two first period goals to gain early momentum and take down the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team 3-1 Friday afternoon at Ralph Engelstad Arena in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs. Bemidji State falls to 17-16-3 with Friday’s loss. North Dakota improves to 21-10-3. UND is now 4-1-0 against the Beavers this season.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. --North Dakota used three third-period goals from Michelle Karvinen as she tallied a hat trick to send Univeristy of North Dakota past Bemidji State University 5-2 Friday night at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Beavers fall to 14-13-3 (8-13-2 WCHA). North Dakota improves to 17-9-2 (13-8-2 WCHA). The Beavers took the early advantage but gave up four-straight UND goals in the loss.

Minneapolis, Minn.--In front of a raucous crowd of 10,234, the tenth-largest crowd in the history of the current Mariucci Arena, fifth-ranked Minnesota grinded out a 3-2 win over No. 15 North Dakota on Saturday night. Freshman Kyle Rau recorded his nation-leading fourth game-winning goal with 46 seconds left to cap a third-period Gopher comeback and lift UM to a 9-1-0 record (6-0-0 in the WCHA).

St. Cloud, Minn.--The St. Cloud State University women's hockey team (1-10-1, 0-8-0 WCHA) suffered a tough 5-1 loss to North Dakota (7-4-1, 4-3-1 WCHA) on Saturday at the National Hockey Center.

North Dakota hit first in the contest with a power play goal by Jocelyne Lamoureux at :55. North Dakota pushed its lead to 2-0 with a goal by Monique Weber at 2:02 of the first period.

Minneapolis, Minn.--Backed by Kent Patterson’s fifth shutout of the season, a 24-save effort, the fifth-ranked Minnesota men’s hockey team defeated archrival North Dakota 2-0 at Mariucci Arena on Friday night. The Gophers received goals from sophomores Nick Bjugstad and Tom Serratore in the victory.
