Both the Sebeka and Henning volleyball teams landed four players on the recently announced Park Region All-Conference Team.

Sebeka, which won the outright Park Region Conference crown with a 6-0 mark, was led by Jessica Lillquist. The senior middle hitter was voted the Park Region Conference Most Valuable Player.

Ellie Rutten posted five kills and six blocks and Brooke Kupfer added 10 digs for New York Mills in Thursday’s Park Region Conference loss to Sebeka.

The Lady Trojans posted 25-6, 25-16 and 25-23 scores to remain undefeated in conference play.

New York Mills rallied from two sets down to edge Verndale 3-2 during Thursday’s epic Park Region Conference battle between the two rivals.

“All the games were extremely close,” said New York Mills head coach Amy Koskela. “It was good for us to come back and play games four and five and end up on top!”

The New York Mills volleyball team went 2-2 at the Ulen-Hitterdal Tournament on Saturday.

‘Overall, the girls all contributed to our second place finish on pool play, which put us in the Silver Division for tournament play.” New York Mills head coach Amy Koskela said. “We think the girls should be happy with how well they turned around from a rough week of games at home.”

Jackie Imsande posted a team-high five kills along with three blocks during her return to the court, but it wasn’t enough for New York Mills during Thursday’s 25-17, 25-19 and 25-10 Park Region Conference loss to Bertha-Hewitt.

Ellie Rutten complied 10 kills, three digs and one block for New York Mills during Monday’s non-conference loss to Waubun.

Taylor Geiser posted a team-high 10 digs to go with her seven kills and one ace serve for the Lady Eagles, who fell to 3-6-1 on the season.

Tori Kempenich added four kills, eight digs, two ace serves, one block and a team-high 12 set assists in the close 23-25, 23-25, 21-25 loss.

Taylor Geiser registered a team-high seven kills and nine digs for New York Mills, but the Lady Eagles were swept in three games by the visiting Henning Hornets in Thursday’s Prak Region Conference match.

“We had a slow start—made a come back, but a little too late.” New York Mills head coach Amy Koskela said. “[In] games one and three, we played great defense and put down some nice hits.”

New York Mills won two matches and tied one en route to a fourth place finish in Saturday’s six-team Pelican Rapids Tournament.

The Lady Eagles dispatched Hillcrest Lutheran and Rothsay in two sets and earned a split with Battle Lake. They were swept by host Vikings and Lake Park-Audubon.

Individual stats for the Lady Eagles were not available.

New York Mills (3-4-1) hosts Henning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday
