The Class AA, second-ranked Wadena-Deer Creek volleyball team got some stiff competition from rival Perham on Tuesday, but the Lady Wolverines rallied to pick up their ninth straight win in the 3-0 sweep.

“[Perham] came out really fired up, they came out ready to play and gave us a good match,” WDC head coach Sue Volkmann said. “They lead us in the first game, but we went on a run to end up taking it from them.”

The Yellowjackets led by five points in the opening game but strong rally by the Lady Wolverines swung the momentum, as they won 25-18.
