Wolverine senior Dane Hoffman advanced to sections when he qualified in two events. He won the shotput with a toss of 42 feet, two inches and then blew past the state qualifiying mark in the discus by nearly 20 feet.

Track and Field: Numerous area track participants place at Daggett Invitational at Frazee

Area track and field teams converged in Frazee for the annual Daggett Invitational on Thursday with numerous individual participants garnering top placements for their respective school teams.

Amos Schmidt won the 110 and 300 meter hurdles and Kathy VanDenheuvel tied for second in the high jump for Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale. The Raider boys team finished sixth with 29 points while the girls were 11th with nine points.

NOTICE: United North Central track meet in Sebeka has been canceled

Sebeka athletic director Josh Haag has informed the local media on Monday afternoon that the United North Central track meet scheduled for Tuesday (today) in Sebeka has been canceled due to a low number of teams participating.

Instead, the Warriors track and field teams will be competing in the Perham meet scheduled for 4 p.m.
