Prep Volleyball: Section 5A First-round: Sebeka sweeps Verndale from playoffs

The Northwest Subsection 5A top-seeded Sebeka swept fourth-seed Verndale out of the playoffs on Friday. The Lady Trojans won by scores of 25-14, 25-10 and 25-16.

Sebeka now advances to section quarterfinals and will host No. 2 Bertha-Hewitt on Tuesday.

Trista Finck hammered six kills while Jamie Kern had three blocks and Crystal Haskin five set assists for the Lady Pirates in the loss.

Verndale finishes the season with a 13-17 record.
