Sebeka bounced back from Friday’s loss to close out the regular season Saturday afternoon with a convincing 76-58 non-conference victory over the ninth-ranked Park Christian Falcons.

“It was great to see us respond to a tough loss with a hard fought win.” Sebeka coach Jon Lillquist said. “With back-to-back games we looked a little tired in the legs in the first half but after halftime we caught our second wind and took over the game.”

The win extended the Trojans’ home winning streak to 28 games.

Third-ranked Sebeka suffered only their second loss of the season when they dropped a tight 69-66 non-conference game to the Class 2A Staples-Motley Cardinals on Friday night.

The loss snaps the Trojans 22-game win streak. Sebeka last tasted defeat back in December 12 against the (then) top-ranked Class 2A New London-Spicer Wildcats 72-70 during the Tip Off Classic.

Four Sebeka starters posted double figures but the night belonged to the Cardinals’ senior forward Derek Wolhowe.

In the individual competition, 17 champions return for more gold medals—six in Class AAA, four in Class AA, and seven in Class A.

Sebeka and Bertha-Hewitt shared the Park Region Conference title last year.

This year, the Trojans weren’t in any mood to share as they clinched the school’s first outright PRC title in Friday night’s 73-64 victory over the sixth-ranked Bears.

The last time Sebeka held sole possession of any conference title was back in 1971 when they won the Lake Region Conference title. In 1975, they were co-champions.

The fifth-ranked Parkers Prairie Lady Panthers drained nine shots from beyond the arc to shoot down Sebeka 80-64 during the non-conference game Thursday.

University of Minnesota-bound Sari Noga erupted for 20 of her game-high 32 points in the second half. Freshman Madison Dorn knocked down a team-high four three-pointers for 18 points and Kaylee Dorn had 10 for the Lady Panthers.
