Sebeka, Minn.—Paul Funk and Austin Cannon were the only Sebeka player in double figures during Saturday’s 82-38 non-conference loss to Pequot Lakes in the regular season finale for both teams.

“Pequot Lakes was a tough matchup for us.” Sebeka head coach Jon Lillquist said. “They are very big and strong and we had problems with their physical style of play.”

Staples, Minn.—Austin Cannon and Carlos Castro tallied 11 points apiece for Sebeka during Friday’s 67-47 non-conference loss to Staples-Motley.

The loss extended the Trojans losing streak to four games while the Cardinals halted a three-game slide.

All four teams return to defend their 2011 titles: Maranatha Christian Academy of Brooklyn Park in Class A, Braham in Class AA, DeLaSalle of Minneapolis in Class AAA, and Hopkins in Class AAAA.

All three of the 2011 team champions return to defend their respective titles: the Jackson County Central Huskies in Class A; the Simley Spartans in Class AA; and the Apple Valley Eagles in Class AAA. Jackson County Central, which tied Frazee for top honors in 2011, is looking for its third consecutive title. Simley of Inver Grove Heights is looking for its fifth consecutive title and Apple Valley is seeking its seventh consecutive title.

Sebeka, Minn.—Jessica Lillquist poured in a team-high 24 points and Alicia Boe added 19 as Sebeka rallied to defeat Perham 64-61 during Thursday’s regular season finale.

Lillquist also posted 12 rebounds to finish with a double-double for the Lady Trojans, who rallied from a 31-27 halftime deficit against the Yellowjackets (11-14).

Verndale, Minn.—Sebeka had three players score in double figures, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Verndale from posting a 75-62 Park Region Conference victory on Tuesday.

Carlos Castro tossed in a team-high 15 points, while Paul Funk and Justin Clark dropped in 14 points apiece for the Trojans, who shot a cool 31 percent (20 for 65) from the floor.
