Battle Lake, Minn.—Wadena-Deer Creek could only muster five hits during Friday’s 13-2, five-inning loss to Ottertail Central in the first round of the West Subsection 6AA playoffs in Battle Lake.

Wadena-Deer Creek struck first with a run in the opening frame, but could do little else as the third-seeded Bulldogs wasted little time establishing control by scoring four runs in the first two innings.
