Battle Lake, Minn.—Wadena-Deer Creek could only muster five hits during Friday’s 13-2, five-inning loss to Ottertail Central in the first round of the West Subsection 6AA playoffs in Battle Lake.

Wadena-Deer Creek struck first with a run in the opening frame, but could do little else as the third-seeded Bulldogs wasted little time establishing control by scoring four runs in the first two innings.

Glenwood, Minn.—Jake Krause went 3-for-5 with two doubles and drove in five runs as Wadena-Deer Creek hammered Minnewaska Area 14-2 during Friday’s non-conference game.

After being held to just four hits in Thursday’s loss, the Wolverine bats came to life during the sixth inning outburst that broke open a 3-2 game. The Wolverines would explode for 11 runs in the final two innings to sink the Lakers.

Wadena, Minn.—Ryan Redfield went 2-for-3 with a home run, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Wadena-Deer Creek from losing Thursday’s non-conference game to Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 5-2.

Wadena-Deer Creek could only muster four hits during the loss, which snapped the Wolverines’ six-game winning streak.

The Thunder scored twice during the first two innings before adding an insurance run in the fifth.

Wadena, Minn.—Logan Meyer registered a winning throw of 53 feet, 7 inches during the boys shot put event while Autumn Jahnke was the top individual girl placer with fourth in the pole vault at 8 feet as both Wadena-Deer Creek track and field teams finished sixth in Tuesday’s Mid-State Conference meet.

Meyer also finished third in the discus event with a throw of 117 feet, 6 inches and Neil Janson was fifth in the 800 (2:10.63) as the Wolverines posted 28 points in the boys team standings.

Paige Hartman fired a 98 to help lead Wadena-Deer Creek to fifth in Monday’s Mid-State Conference meet held at the Whitebirch Golf Course in Pequot Lakes.

Detroit Lakes, ranked No. 1 in the state, captured the Mid-State Conference crown with 307 points and was led by Katie Smith, who fired a one-under par 71. The Lakers placed four golfers on the all-conference team.

Sebeka, Minn.—Jake Krause went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs to help lift Wadena-Deer Creek past Sebeka 4-2 in Monday’s non-conference game.

Wadena-Deer Creek scored four runs in the third inning to erase a 2-0 deficit.

Breckenridge, Minn.—After being held to three hits in Thursday’s loss, Wadena-Deer Creek recovered nicely to scatter 14 hits en route to bucking the Breckenridge Cowgirls 21-3 on Friday.

The Lady Wolverines led 4-1 after four innings, but erupted for five runs in sixth and scored 12 runs in the seventh to finish off the Cowgirls.

New York Mills pitcher Autumn Roberts (3) was nearly unhittable during the Lady Eagles' 10-0, six-inning victory over Wadena-Deer Creek on Thursday. The sophomore gave up just three hits and did additional damage at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs.

Wolverine starter David Najjar sends a pitch towards the plate during Thursday's wild 13-12 win over Ottertail Central. The senior struck out 11 in six innings and went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and drove in two runs at the plate.
