Riley Hanson, Emily Miron to grace upcoming Breakdown Sports USA Volleyball cover

Breakdown Sports USA has unveiled the the cover of its 5th Annual Breakdown Volleyball Preview this afernoon. The 2012 publication is expected to hit the newstands in mid-May.

Local volleyball standouts Riley Hanson of Nevis and Emily Miron of Wadena-Deer Creek were one of the 25 players featured on the guidebook cover.

Emily Miron (12) was one of five Wadena-Deer Creek players to be named to the 2011 Mid-State All-Conference Team recently. The junior led the team with 254 blocks and slammed 402 kills during the season.

Both Wadena-Deer Creek in Class AA and Lakeville North in Class AAA return to defend their respective titles at the 2011 State Girls’ Volleyball Tournament. It would be the second title for each team if they win.

Wadena-Deer Creek offering fan bus to state volleyball tournament

Come and cheer on the Wadena-Deer Creek volleyball team when they play in the state tournament at the Xcel Energy Center.
 
WDC will be offering a fan bus to the state tourney, Nov. 10, 11 and 12. Cost to ride the fan bus is $10 per day for students and $20 for adults.
